Competitions
Our annual competitions whilst not compulsory are a highlight of our physie year.
Mortdale members have the option to compete in four types of competitions each year. These include:
Interclub - Is a friendly individual competition between clubs that act as a practice to champion girl.
Champion Girl - Is an individual competition in which girls and ladies compete in Zones for the opportunity to become Champion Girl of their division
Teams - Is a team competition that involves 8 girls aiming to perform as one.
Club Competition - Is a friendly culmination to our physie year in which all our members are given the opportunity to demonstrate and celebrate their achievements over the year and receive an award.

Competitions not only offer a great opportunity to build confidence and self esteem, achieve personal goals and represent yourself and your club but also provide a fantastic bonding opportunity between club members, team mates and families. In 2014 a number of our families were able to share in the excitement of each winning a team place and in 2010 a mother daughter duo took out 2 of our club marching champion awards. In 2017 many of our physie members joined with BjP girls from all over Australia in BjP's 125year Celebration and in 2020 our 2nd Year Senior Girl placed 4th at the NSW State Competition.
Whilst our club has had a huge amount of success since its foundation including individual and team champions, our very best is when a former member returns to Mortdale Physical Culture Club (sometimes from many suburbs away) to enrol her daughter in our club to be taught physie by our 'Aunty Nola'. In 2022 we celebrated Nola's 60th year of teaching BjP Physie - 2023 will be her 60th year of teaching Mortdale |
